Warren County Career Center Student Wins Blues Festival T-Shirt Design

Warren County Career Center Graphic Arts Junior Alyssa Dodson, Little Miami, has designed the T-shirt for this year’s Lebanon Blues and Barbeque Festival. The annual festival, sponsored by the Lebanon Optimist Club, holds a contest each year to select the winning design. This year, they included students from the WCCC Graphic Arts program. Alyssa won $50 for her work, which she will likely put in her college fund.

“I am really into fashion, and I enjoy designing clothing and accessories,” she said. “I plan on creating a line of accessories to sell this summer to help put money away for college. I will definitely attend the Blues Festival this year. It will be exciting to see my T-shirt design there!”

Alyssa uses recycled materials such as old T-shirts to design and create her fashions. Her plans are to sell the accessories online. She plans to apply to the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning next year.

“Alyssa worked very hard for us, and she was very flexible. She did a great job,” Optimist Board Member Jack Collopy said. “The Graphic Arts program treated us just like a real customer. Mr. Norris is a wonderful teacher and he makes sure his students understand good customer service.”
